Jaala Shaw is a Teacher and has worked in International Education for over two decades. First as a United States Peace Corps Volunteer in China and Micronesia as a teacher trainer, then as an Adjunct English Professor at UC Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara City College, and CU Boulder.

Later, Jaala worked as an English Language Fellow with the United States Department of State in Afghanistan and Jordan. She has also attended courses at the United Nations University in Jordan and worked on non-violent conflict resolution in Israel and Palestine. In her free time, Jaala coaches CrossFit and loves to run ultramarathons.
