Marjan Tajik serves as a Program Associate for the Peer Mentorship Program at Alekain. She is a student at the University of Toronto, where she studies Neuroscience and Mathematics. Raised in Iran in an Afghan family, Marjan developed a strong passion for women's rights and educational equity after witnessing the impact of discrimination firsthand. Beyond her academic studies, Marjan is actively involved in research, including medical education research at SickKids, Canada's largest pediatric hospital and research centre, combining her passion for education and medicine. For the past four years, Marjan has been involved in peer tutoring and mentorship initiatives through nonprofit organizations, including Health for Homeless, Neighbour to Neighbour, and Stars for Scholarly Youth.
